Making The Most Of Your Bed Linen By Accessorising

Many homeowners like to make regular changes in their property to keep it feeling fresh and new.  However, decorating can be a chore and even the most avid interior designer will shy away from painting or laying new wallpaper too frequently.  One great way of altering the feel of your bedrooms is to change the bed linen on a regular basis.  Here we address to issue of how accessorising can help you get the most from your bed linen.

Matching curtains

One of the simplest ways of accessorising with new bed linen is to go for curtains that are of a matching or complimentary colour.  As your bed and curtain areas make up a large amount of the surface space in your room, the right colours can really impact on the room’s ambience.  If you already have some nice curtains that are of a quite neutral colour then you have the option of keeping them and introducing some curtain ties to match your bed linen.

Incorporating rugs

If you have seen some specific bed linen that you really like, but are worried that the colour doesn’t match your carpet; don’t despair.  Through the introduction of a well chosen rug you can draw in the colours from both the bed linen and the carpet to fuse the two items together. 

Adding cushions

Our third suggestion to get the most from your bed linen is to add decorative cushions to finish off the bed area.  These can either be used to co-ordinate with other shades that are present in the room or to add some stylish patterns if you have gone for quite plain bed linen. 

Mix and match

One final consideration is to look for accessories that will go well with more than one colour or design of bed linen.  In addition you could purchase alternative accessories so that you can make changes as and when you feel, thus keeping the bedroom feeling fresh.
